Agape House After School Program currently enrolls 27 children from kindergarten through 8th grade. It runs for 3.5 hours after school, focusing on homework help, tutoring and character development. The program serves children from low income areas including several children in single parent families. The program utilizes a host of screened and trained volunteers as academic counselors. Recreation is interspersed with awareness activities regarding 12 pillars of character: Honor, love, respect, trust, integrity, responsibility, discipline, consideration, time management, persistence, understanding and patience.
Children use a computer station to increase their technology skills. The after school meets genuine community needs, supporting working parents by giving their children excellent care.
AH would like to add an evening component for older students. That program is searching for funds to do intervention and prevention in three areas: juvenile delinquency, teen pregnancy and childhood obesity.
